Well creatives, thats where my “Piano patterns” come in.
I wanted to give you the tools, the skills you need to be able to sit at any piano, regardless of your ability level, and have the confidence to just play!
Play music you love, and music others love to listen to.
Without sheet music and without worrying about what to play.
Whether you’re at a wedding, a friends house, on your own or just playing for your wife, hubby or even the grandkids.
Because ultimately why do we want to play piano in the first place? Putting all those hours into learning…
Is it to sit and play scales and exercises all day?
Although they are necessary it’s so easy to get bogged down in them and frustrated that you aren’t playing real music or putting those exercises to real use!
The Beginner Series
Hand coordination a struggle? Maybe moving between chords or just getting those fingers moving and familiar with the keys...
The beginner series is all about simplicity. Not overwhelming you with everything under the sun... just great sounding music to get you familiar with those core skills you need as a well rounded pianist but also to get the most out of the rest of the course.
Pattern 1 is dedicated to nailing that sustain pedal - the number one thing you can learn to sound like a pro even as a beginner - Plus infinite creative musical ways to train it.
So Beginner routines, short and sweet, great to get you going and those essential core skills developed!
The Blues Series
Nothing gets me more pumped up and energised than a good round of the boogie woogie.
So here's where you can get a quick dose of inspiration, of energy. Something to get you going.
Boogie woogie not your thing... well you will still find benefit here because there is NOTHING better for developing hand independence than the blues. In fact, pull off just pattern 1 in the blues series and you'll see immediate benefits.
So blues series - 6 patterns, get the heart going, get energised, get coordinated... Done!
The Kick-Ass Series
Ah, the Kick-Ass series.
I LOVE this series. This is where the magic is.
If you've seen my patterns on the old U-toob and liked those, you will LOVE these.
They are richer, more detailed, more melodic, more complete and just out and out better in every way.
Want to explore simple techniques to generate melodies that sound amazing, on demand and just work? Follow the principles laid out in Kick-Ass pattern 15(the river flows over and under) and 18 (open chords and flow). A Fool proof technique that just works!
If you want to work on your rhythm skills while playing beautiful music... Kick-Ass Patterns 1 and 2 are for you (Joining Einaudi - Infinite variations)
If you want to use simple, step-by-step techniques to create beautiful melodies, inspirational chord progressions and impress yourself and those around you with your piano playing… This series is for you!
If you want to sit down and play beautiful music - Here's 18 Kick-Ass patterns that will show you how!
Creativity and FREEDOM! How to become the musician you want to be...
Here's what I didn't want...
I didn't want to create a bunch of nice sounding patterns, give you the sheet music and away you go...
Don't get me wrong... My patterns are unique, they sound great and if you put the work in, will help you with your core skills. So if you want to just learn them then thats absolutely fine.
What I really want is for you to have the confidence to make these patterns yours. Get creative with them and have the tools and understanding to play around with them.
After all, the ability to create on the piano rather than just play other peoples music taps into a deeper layer of what it means to be a musician.
I find this deeply satisfying and its a feeling you can't describe. It drives me to continue playing and I wanted to bring this feeling to you.
So I built layers into every pattern and its up to you how deep you go.
Every pattern is split up into Main themes and Variations.
The Main Themes form the backbone of the pattern and the variations provide lots of different options for where to go after the main theme.
Its up to you to explore the different orders and create something unique.
Armed with all of these options, you can create a unique piece of music and take it where you want to take it.
Want to get even more creative?
By now you should have gone through the free 'taster' lesson I sent you.
Notice how with a relatively simple principle we can really tap into our creativity and just flow out beautiful music for hours?
And you don't need to be an expert to do it...
Theres more where that came from in the course.
Want simple techniques to explore beautiful melodies for hours or infinite rhythm variations all to develop those core musical skills...
This course is full of them.

One really important skill, particularly when it comes to playing fluently... is having a good grasp of fingering.

Hey... No pain no gain right?
